Aris, despairing and desperate, attempts to leave Greece on a rotting and barely seaworthy boat. After being rescued from drowning by the Coast Guard, he returns to his own ruined country as an outcast. There, he experiences every kind of transgression as an outsider of the new “system”, where he now must live as a thief, a slave, and a murderer in this dystopian nightmare.
