What began as a childhood pastime—shooting zombie movies on VHS in the streets of Vancouver, WA—evolved into a career rooted in genre filmmaking. A self-described “fan first, filmmaker second,” McCarthy draws inspiration from Japanese kaiju films, ’50s sci-fi, and a lifelong love of horror. His goal remains simple: to tell fun, thrilling stories that keep audiences entertained.
